Endless possibilities to “Be the Change” await the North Babylon High School Class of 2026
The members of the North Babylon High School Class of 2026 marked the culmination of their high school journey during a memorable commencement ceremony celebrating their achievements, perseverance and limitless potential for the future. Family members, friends, faculty and staff gathered to honor the graduates as they crossed the stage and officially became alumni on June 25.
In his address, Principal Dr. Jonathan Klomp reminded students that their futures are filled with promise. “Class of 2026, whether you know your exact path or not, please know we see your potential – we always have. We are proud of all of you. As you leave North Babylon High School, step out of your comfort zone, be fearless to do what is right, serve others and, most importantly, continue to embrace our motto: Be The Change you want to see in the world.”
Valedictorian Teyla Lopez reflected on the countless opportunities awaiting the graduating class, sharing a simple yet powerful thought: “Possibility is the space which resides between your start and an ending.” While salutatorian Samantha Giraldo encouraged her classmates to pursue lives driven by passion and purpose. “No matter the profession you follow or where you go, never limit yourself to the possibilities in front of you.”
Adding a heartfelt musical moment to the ceremony, graduates and guests enjoyed a performance of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” by Leah Dennis and Kendra Guillaume with accompaniment on guitar by Nicholas Castillo. The ceremony also featured congratulatory addresses from Senior Class President Amaya Carson, Board of Education trustee Keisha Rivers and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth E. Graham, who encouraged graduates to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead while carrying the values of a North Babylon Bulldog – grit, tenacity, confidence and pride.
As tassels were turned and caps soared into the air, the Class of 2026 celebrated not only the completion of one chapter but the beginning of the next. Equipped with knowledge, resilience and the encouragement of their families and the entire North Babylon community, the Class of 2026 now embark on new journeys – ready to pursue every possibility that lies ahead.
