Woods Road Gets Special Visit from Delta Sigma Theta

Members of SCAC Delta Sigma Theta Sorority visited Woods Road Elementary School on May 7 to spend time reading and engaging with students in grades K-3 as part of a meaningful literacy and character education initiative.

During the visit, sorority members read “The Power of One” to students, sharing important messages about kindness, helping others and the impact a single act of compassion can have on someone’s life. The story encouraged students to reflect on how their words and actions can positively influence those around them.

Following the read-aloud, students completed worksheets featuring positive affirmations designed to promote self-confidence, encouragement and self-worth. The activity aligned with the organization’s mission of supporting young learners while fostering service and empowerment within the communities they serve.
