Reading Buddies Connect with DeLuca Students

On April 16, students from Robert Moses Middle School visited William E. DeLuca Elementary School to share their love of reading with Mrs. McGroary and Ms. Zumpol’s third grade class. The reading buddies program focuses on connecting older and younger students through literacy. During the visit, the middle school students acted as role models by reading aloud, listening, and working with small groups up answer questions about the story. This experience gave the older students a chance to practice leadership skills while fostering meaningful connections with younger learners. Each visit is more memorable than the next, and the students look forward to every session!
