North Babylon Students Attend LILTA Women’s Conference
On March 19, 21 North Babylon High School students attended the Long Island Latino Teachers Association (LILTA) annual Women’s Conference at Stony Brook University. The conference, themed “Women Leaders Paving Paths for Young Women,” connected students with peers from districts across Long Island and inspired them through the stories of accomplished professionals.
The event featured panels in both Spanish and English, ensuring that English Language Learners could fully participate. Students gained valuable insights into how education can transform their futures and learned how to align their passions with potential career paths.
North Babylon ENL teachers Victoria Ciminelli and Kimberly Sollo chaperoned the students, providing support throughout the day. LILTA’s conference emphasizes motivating students to graduate from high school and pursue higher education by showcasing real-life examples of women leaders who have navigated diverse professional fields.
