The North Babylon School District proudly announced that three distinguished members of its school community were recognized at the annual SCOPE Education Services Awards Dinner on March 23.

Dr. Kenneth Graham, Superintendent of Schools since March 2023, was recognized for his leadership and contributions to the district. Under his guidance, North Babylon has implemented initiatives that promote both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. His efforts have led to expanded learning opportunities through a nine-period day, enhanced school safety measures, curriculum development and alignment, and the support of innovative instructional practices. Dr. Graham is widely respected for his strong communication, relationship-building and approachable leadership style, which have strengthened trust and engagement throughout the community.

Georgiana Lynch was nominated for the SCOPE Administrator Award in recognition of her outstanding career and dedication to the district. A proud Bulldog, Lynch has served North Babylon for 29 years as both a building psychologist and Committee on Special Education chairperson. Known for her collaborative approach, deep expertise and compassion, she has made a lasting impact on students, families and colleagues. As she prepares for retirement, this recognition celebrates not only her professional excellence, but also her lifelong commitment to supporting students and strengthening the school community.

Tom Heimerle was honored with the Support Staff Service Award for his longstanding dedication to the district. A member of the North Babylon community since 1993, Heimerle began his career with the district in 1999 as a part-time custodian, becoming full-time at William E. DeLuca Jr. Elementary School in 2000 and later serving as head custodian beginning in 2003. Known for his strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to excellence, he has been a valued team member and union representative. Beyond his professional role, Heimerle has made a positive impact on students through his volunteer work as a youth coach. His legacy of service, care and dedication has left a lasting impression on the entire school community.

The district congratulates all three honorees on this well-deserved recognition. Their commitment to excellence and service reflects the very best of North Babylon and continues to inspire students, staff and the greater community.
