North Babylon elementary and middle school English as a New Language teachers participated in the Long Island Teachers' Institute on March 4 in Melville.
The theme of this year’s institute, “ELL Pluribus Unum: Coming Together to Support English Language Learners,” focused on collaboration, innovative instructional practices and strengthening support for students learning English as a new language.
Throughout the day, educators attended presentations and workshops led by colleagues from school districts across Long Island. The sessions provided valuable opportunities to share strategies, discuss best practices and learn new approaches to help English Language Learners succeed in the classroom.
By the end of the conference, the district’s ENL teachers returned energized and inspired, bringing back new ideas and a renewed commitment to supporting and empowering English language learners in their schools.
