Parliament Third Graders Solve Escape Room Mystery
Third grade students in Ms. Nemeti’s class at Parliament Place Elementary School recently put their critical thinking and teamwork skills to the test by participating in a Valentine’s Day-themed English language arts escape room.
Working collaboratively, students rotated through five different stations, each featuring a unique puzzle connected to their ELA lessons. At each station, they had to decipher clues, solve riddles and complete language-based challenges before moving on to the next task.
The goal of the escape room was to determine the culprit behind the mystery of the “vanishing Valentines.” Through problem solving and close reading, students worked together to crack the case while reinforcing important literacy skills. The interactive experience provided a fun and engaging way for students to apply their learning in a real-world context, encouraging collaboration, communication and a love for reading and learning.
