Seventh Graders Bring Drawings to Life

Posted Date: 11/24/25 (12:00 AM)

Students in Mr. Zographos’ seventh grade Art for Design and Production class at Robert Moses Middle School are diving into the fundamentals of animation by creating their own flip books. In this hands-on project, students design a character or object that appears to move as the pages are flipped, introducing them to the magic of frame-by-frame animation.
Throughout the lesson, students apply key artistic and design concepts including ratio, perspective, storyboarding, and the elements of art such as line, shape, form and movement. The project strengthens their technical skills while encouraging creativity and visual storytelling, giving them a deeper understanding of how animation comes to life.
