Budget Vote PSA

Students in the North Babylon High School Television Broadcasting class recently produced an exclusive interview with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Graham to discuss the upcoming school budget vote and a change in the polling location. Under the guidance of their teacher James Avila, the student-led production showcased their skills both on and off camera. Ayden Sproul was the on-air interviewer, while Myriam Abbas worked the switchboard, Gabriel Rivera ran the sound/teleprompter, Joshua Castelli produced the graphics and Milani Russell and Kasey Ferris were operating the camera.

Woods Road Students Tap Into Their Creative Side

To celebrate their love of literacy and tap into their creativity, students throughout Woods Road Elementary School held a poetry café celebration on April 29 and 30.

    Each class spent time in the café to create and recite one of many different types of poems. Rotating through different stations, students worked together to create a class piece to hang for display. They explored figurative language and created shape poems. Students even acted out a poem as their classmate read it aloud or listened to a classmate recite one while they drew what they heard.

    At the end of their time in the café, each student shared one of their special poems with their classmates.
