Junior Saadiyah Proctor was chosen as one of three students across Long Island to perform in a staged reading of an original work by Stan Zimmerman at the Stage the Change Conference on Nov. 18. Stage the Change is a nonprofit dedicated to helping high school students become global citizens through creativity and performance. Zimmerman is an American television producer, director and screenwriter. He has written for many television series including “The Golden Girls,” “Roseanne” and “Gilmore Girls.” Proctor is pictured with North Babylon School District’s Director of Music and Art Elizabeth O’Brien (left) and North Babylon High School music/theatre teacher Lisa Drance (right).
