DIRECTOR OF GUIDANCE K-12
The North Babylon School District is seeking an innovative, dynamic leader for the position of Director of Guidance. The Director will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the elementary, middle and high school guidance programs. The successful candidate should have current guidance counseling experience and be able to provide leadership in the application and interpretation of graduation requirements, be fluent in the aspects of the successful integration of social emotional health into the everyday lives of our student population, and monitor the implementation of the district’s guidance plan.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, coordinate, implement and monitor a comprehensive guidance program for grades K-12
- Organize, supervise and evaluate the work of the guidance counselors at all levels
- Assist the faculty in interpreting the guidance program
- Participate in the planning, organizing and development of the guidance curriculum
- Provide leadership in the development of appropriate guidance and counseling program activities
- Establish a systematic approach for making the guidance programs viable at all levels
- Develop and manage an operating budget for guidance
Appropriate NYS certifications required
