North Babylon Students Express Appreciation to Veterans

The North Babylon’s Marion G. Vedder Elementary School students and staff shuffled outside to the front of the building and welcomed local veterans to their Veterans Day ceremony. Students wore patriotic paper caps to demonstrate their support and appreciation for those troops who have sacrificed and served the county.

Marion G. Vedder Elementary School Principal Kerry Larke made introductions and announced the names of veterans who were in attendance. Also attending the ceremony were Superintendent of Schools Glen Eschbach and Deputy Superintendent for Instruction Kim Skillen.
North Babylon High School music students also serenaded the crowd with patriotic melodies before a moment of silence. Participating students also expressed their words of appreciation and offered a salute of thanks to the veterans in attendance. In addition, photos were taken of students with their veteran parents or relatives after the ceremony.
