Joined by friends, family, board of education members and district administration, North Babylon High School held its 2024 World Language Honor Society induction on Jan. 31 in North Babylon High School auditorium.

Guests were welcomed to the ceremony by World Language Honor Society adviser Maria Masullo and North Babylon High School Principal Dr. Jonathan Klomp. North Babylon School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Graham offered congratulations to the newest inductees. “Our inductees will serve as ambassadors of language learning, inspiring others to embark on their own journey of linguistic exploration,” he said. “The study of languages opens doors to diverse opportunities, broadens perspectives and fosters understanding amongst individuals of different backgrounds.”

Student performances included poetry readings by Rachel Chen, James Bulger and Saira Pervez and a musical performance by Reese Rowland and Xiomara Aristide.

To be inducted into the honor society, students must have achieved an overall GPA of 85 and at least a 90 average in the respective language courses.
