Students holding up poster boards

First graders at Woods Road Elementary School recently created posters to share their favorite family traditions. Whether it was a special holiday happening or a yearly celebration, students shared or drew pictures and wrote about their traditions and what they love most about them. The posters helped to foster an understanding of other holiday traditions and cultures that were unfamiliar to them. Students shared their posters with classmates and explained why they were important traditions to them. As a culminating activity, the posters were on display on Dec. 19 as friends and family were invited to the school for breakfast and a poster walk.
