Mrs. Erlagen’s Hispanic History and Culture through the Arts classes recently visited the “Somos: We Are” exhibition at the Long Island Museum at Stony Brook. The Somos exhibition displayed breathtaking art pieces from Latinx artists from Long Island. During the exhibition, students spoke about several impactful pieces and interpreted them by analyzing the elements and symbolism. After the exhibition, students created a multimedia art project using gold leaf, leaves, felt and pastels.
