The Environmental Club from Robert Moses Middle School met with members of the Covanta Energy team to discuss garbage and how it can be turned into energy instead of ending up in a landfill. Covanta taught the club members team how they burn trash to produce energy. Throughout this process, they are still able to maintain a negative carbon footprint by filtering out waste before it gets into the environment.
