Members of the League of Women Voters speaking to students

Members of the League of Women Voters organization visited North Babylon High School on April 28 to educate students on their voting rights and register interested students to vote. Young people (18-24) make up one in three of all eligible voters in the United States. There are many policy issues that affect them directly and their vote has proven to make differences in elections. Students visited the tables with their social studies classes during select times or during lunch periods. Students who are not yet 18 years old could pre-register, so they are eligible to vote as soon as they turn 18. All students who registered to vote that day filled out a raffle ticket to win a $100 gift card.
