Be Vic

William E. DeLuca Jr, Elementary School is proud to announce this year’s recipient of the ‘Be Victorious Award.’  This award goes to a student who has displayed amazing character as well as integrity.  They are a student who has shown they can overcome obstacles.  This award was created in memory of Mrs. Vega who was a very important social worker in our school.  Thank you to our own Student Council who sponsor’s this award.

This year’s recipient is Samuel from Mr. Ierardi’s class. Samuel is always doing the right thing even when nobody's watching.  He puts time and effort into his academics and is always willing to help a classmate in need.  Samuel came to the United States in 2020 with no knowledge of the English language and little family to support him.  He has worked hard to become the student he is today.  He has shown grit and determination and has taken every opportunity to improve himself and gain a better understanding of his new home country's culture and customs.

We are so very proud of Samuel and all he has accomplished.  Sam’s name has been engraved on the ‘Be Victorious’ plaque which is hung in the lobby of the school.  He will also receive a very special award during the 5th Grade Moving-Up Ceremony.
