Crime Scene Investigation:

In 8th grade ELA, students entered the world of the macabre with Edgar Allan Poe. Students walked into a “crime scene” that occurred in the early morning hours. Police had left some evidence behind and students had to infer what happened. Using the evidence, which included a heart, a pale-blue eye, the outline of what appeared to be human limbs, a pillow, a lantern and floor boards, students had to come up with a version of events and create a story about what happened.
