North Babylon School District Welcomes Mark Mihopulos as Special Education Instructional Leader

The North Babylon School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Mihopulos as its new Special Education Instructional Leader, bringing more than two decades of experience in special education, instructional leadership and student support.

Throughout his career, Mihopulos has served in a variety of leadership roles supporting students with and without disabilities across preschool and school-age programs. He has built a reputation for fostering strong partnerships with educators and families while ensuring all students have access to meaningful, high-quality educational opportunities. His work has consistently centered on creating inclusive learning environments, supporting teachers and staff, and helping every student reach their fullest potential.

Mihopulos earned his bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from SUNY New Paltz, his master's degree in Special Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City, and his School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certifications through Molloy University.

As he begins his new role in North Babylon, Mihopulos is eager to collaborate with students, families, faculty, staff and district leadership to continue strengthening the district's commitment to inclusive practices and student success.

"I'm honored to join the North Babylon School District and grateful for the opportunity to serve this community," said Mihopulos. "I look forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, faculty and staff as we work together to strengthen inclusive, supportive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to succeed."

Dr. Kenneth Graham, Superintendent of Schools, said Mihopulos' experience and student-centered philosophy make him an outstanding addition to the district's leadership team.
