North Babylon School District has named Eliot Lewin as its new director of social studies, effective Dec. 19. He replaces Dr. Krystle Barnett.
Lewin comes to North Babylon from the Long Beach School District, where he served as vice principal of Long Beach Middle School since July 2019. Prior to that, Lewin was the director of literacy and advanced studies K-12 at the Commack School District from 2013-2019. He’s also worked as a social studies teacher in the Commack School District since 1997.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Binghamton and a Master of Science degree from LIU/Post. Lewin also holds certifications in school district administration from Touro College.
"I’m excited to be part of the team at North Babylon Schools and eager to develop relationships with staff and families,” Lewin said. “I look forward to supporting students as they acquire deeper understandings of their roles in our ever-changing world."
