Veteran Educator Appointed Interim Superintendent  for North Babylon UFSD

Dr. Laurence Aronstein has been appointed by the North Babylon Board of Education as Interim Superintendent of Schools, effective Aug. 18. He replaces outgoing Superintendent Glen Eschbach.

With a career in public education spanning more than 45 years, Dr. Aronstein has spent the past decade sharing his knowledge with aspiring leaders and teachers as thefounder of  Educational Performance Consultants. Prior to his retirement from public education, Dr. Aronstein served as Superintendent of Schools of the Glen Cove City School District and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum in the Copiague Public Schools. Dr. Aronstein has worked at all levels of public education throughout his career, starting as a teacher, then working as a principal at the elementary, middle school and high school levels before entering central administration.

“We are excited to welcome an educator with such a distinguished career and proven track record as Dr. Aronstein to our District,” Board of Education President Matthew Lucchetti said. “His experience, knowledge and insight will provide our District with the expertise and leadership abilities necessary to continue our commitment to a high-quality education for all students.”

The Board of Education is committed to hiring a permanent superintendent by the end of the current school year. As the process moves forward, the Board will provide the community with information about opportunities for input.
