COVID-19 Test Distribution for North Babylon Students
North Babylon School District will be providing “at-home” COVID-19 tests for our student body. Students will not be tested at school. Additionally, testing is not required by the school district. We are offering these kits to assist families that would like to take advantage of the opportunity to test their child(ren) at home. Parents/Guardians may obtain one kit, that contains two tests, for each child attending the school district.
DATE: January 5, 2022
TIME: 4pm-8pm (no appointment necessary)
LOCATION: North Babylon High School West Gym
SAFETY PRACTICES: Masks are required as well as 6 feet social distancing
Please ensure you have proper identification upon arrival. Parents and guardians must have proper identification. Test kits will not be sent home if they are not picked up by a parent or guardian.
Directions on how to use the “at-home” test kits have been provided by the CDC and can be found HERE.
Please know the District is aware that the tests given to us by New York State have an expiration date of January 2022. It is our understanding that CareStart has petitioned the FDA to seek approval for an extended expiration date. Further information will be provided upon receipt.
Parents/Guardians are asked to report any positive test results to the school nurse. If using an “at-home” test kit (issued from the school or otherwise) you must report it on the Suffolk County Department of Health portal at this LINK as well.
