Student earns scholar artist recognition

The North Babylon School District is proud to announce that High School student
Haylee Fox has been selected as a Long Island Scholar Artist in the area of theater for the
2021-2022 school year through the Long Island Arts Alliance.
Each year the Long Island Scholar Artist program recognizes students who excel
academically and in the areas of either music, visual arts, dance, theater or media arts. She
is one of 20 selected Scholar Artists from across Long Island and will be featured in a June
Newsday issue.
When she found out she was selected for this honor, Haylee said she was very
excited. “It was thrilling to me and I was very surprised,” she said. “It meant so much to me
to win that award and it meant so much to my family as well.”
North Babylon High School Principal Jonathan Klomp said that along with being an
“incredibly talented artist and overall student,” Haylee is also the president of several
school organizations, including the National Honor Society, the Drama Club and
International Thespian Society.
The district congratulates Haylee on this wonderful achievement.
