North Babylon HS senior named National Merit Commended Student

The North Babylon School District is proud to recognize North Babylon High School
senior Autumn E. Cullinan as a Commended Student in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship
Program.
Each year, approximately 34,000 students nationwide are recognized by the
National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their exceptional academic promise.
Commended Students are named such for placing among the top 50,000 scorers of more
than 1.5 million students who enter the annual competition. This year’s scores are based on
the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
In honor of her achievement, Autumn received a Letter of Commendation from the
school, as well as the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, or NMSC.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding
potential for academic success,” according to the NMSC. “These students represent a
valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their
schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational
excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational
opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
