Welcome Back

Dear North Babylon Parents/Guardians,

I hope everyone was able to take some time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the holiday break. We are looking forward to having our staff and students return tomorrow to begin the new year. We are so thankful for the partnership we have developed with our community in battling this pandemic, and ensuring that everyone is safe and healthy. As you know, we have been closely monitoring cases and close contact identification through the Google Form provided prior to our school break. Although our county infection rate is increasing, our district numbers for positive student and staff cases are nowhere near that of the county. The health and safety of our students, staff, and community at large have always been the primary focus of the school district during these unprecedented times. Given our current data, we are able to open for in-person instruction tomorrow, January 4th. School has proved to be a very safe place for our students and staff as we interact very differently in school than how people interact outside of our school buildings. Our staff has done an excellent job ensuring that everyone is masked, socially distant, and utilizing good hand hygiene throughout the school day. These measures have proven to be extremely effective in our school environment, and have allowed our students to be educated effectively in our school buildings. We will continue to monitor our infection rate throughout the upcoming weeks, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping your child home should they display any of the symptoms related to COVID-19. Your partnership with us has led to the current success we have accomplished with our in-person instructional program. Your continued diligence in paying attention to the signs and symptoms of the virus in your child is very important and will continue to make school a safe environment.  We hope you all have a happy, healthy, and safe new year.
