Inclement Weather - Possible Closing

December 15, 2020

Dear North Babylon Families,

I hope this email finds you safe and well. In order for you to be prepared for  the possibility of the impending inclement weather, I am writing to you to give you some information about how we will handle emergency day closures. The predicted forecast is anticipating accumulating snow for Wednesday night into Thursday morning and this may cause the district to close school or have a delayed opening.  If the district is forced to close, this will be a true closure, which means there will be no virtual instruction on this day. The District has built in 3 emergency days into our calendar. This would be considered one of those days, and as a result, school would be open on April 6th should we need to close this Thursday.

I will be closely monitoring the weather Wednesday night and early Thursday morning while working with our grounds and transportation departments to determine the status of school.

A robo-call would go out to the community as early as possible should there be a change in our opening status.

Stay Safe,

Glen A. Eschbach Superintendent
