Important Message from the Superintendent

November 25, 2020

Dear North Babylon Families,

The District was notified today that two individuals at the North Babylon High School, both in cohort A, have tested positive for COVID-19. You will be contacted by the District should it be
necessary for your child to quarantine. The District follows the Department of Health (DOH)
guidelines to determine a close contact which is defined as any individual who is less than 6 feet apart from the positive case for more than 10 minutes over a 24 hour time period.

We consistently remain in contact with the Suffolk County Department of Health and will continue to follow all necessary protocols and guidance to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff.

As a reminder, the symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and
include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath. Some people have reported additional
symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting, and
diarrhea. If any student or employee begins to display any of these symptoms, please contact a medical provider.

Again, the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty are of the utmost importance. We thank you for the partnership.

Stay Well!
Glen A. Eschbach
