Students at Parliament Place design LEGO self-portraits

North Babylon fifth graders at Parliament Place recently discussed what it would be like to work as a designer at The LEGO Group. Students were challenged to be as creative as possible while still adhering to the LEGO figurine template.

Using colored pencils, crayons and markers, they transformed LEGO silhouettes into self-portraits by adding unique features, including hair, personalized outfits and accessories. Students also added backgrounds to their drawings to enhance their self-portraits and bring them to life.

Art teacher Christina Kampson was thoroughly impressed by the students’ creativity and imagination. “Great work by all our fifth graders,” she said.
