School Lunch

September 25, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are happy to announce the New York State Education Department (NYSED) along with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted a waiver to allow schools in New York State to serve free meals to all students until December 31, 2020 or until the funds are exhausted, whichever occurs first. These meals include breakfast, lunch to all children 19 years of age or younger.

If your child is learning from home whether that is in the District virtual program, remote days for hybrid students or a student receiving home instruction, he or she may pick up their meals daily. The meals are grab and go breakfast and lunch bags and are available from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the entrance to the North Babylon Pool House located at 151 Phelps Lane. Parents or guardians can pick-up meals for students.

Please note families must continue to fill out the Free & Reduced Meal Applications in order to have your benefit continue once the relief effort is over. The application can be found on the District website under school lunch.

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact Mark Sabella, Director of Food Services at msabella@northbabylonschools.net .

Regards,
Kim Skillen
