North Babylon HS seniors earn ‘Awards of Merit’

Congratulations to North Babylon High School seniors, Gabriella-Doreen Felice and Kaitlyn Marcis, for being selected to receive an “Award of Merit” as part of the 2020-21 Scholar Artist Program.

Each year, the Long Island Arts Alliance recognizes students who excel in academics, as well as in the areas of music, visual arts, dance, theater or media arts. Gabriella was selected to receive an award for her excellence in theater, whereas Kaitlyn was recognized for her devotion and passion for dance.

As two of only 20 award recipients across Long Island, both Gabriella and Kaitlyn will be featured in an upcoming edition of Newsday, both print and online. The students have also been invited to attend an end-of-year reception at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in the spring.

On behalf of the Long Island Arts Alliance, the Scholar Artist Committee and Newsday, Long Island Arts Alliance Director Lauren Wagner said, “Even during this unprecedented time, we are so glad to be able to continue this important program to honor your accomplishments.”
