Organizations members at desks presenting

English language learners and parents who attended the Saturday ENL Academy at North Babylon High School closed out the program on April 29 with a celebration. Both students and parents received certificates of completion. During the six weeks, students worked on English language acquisition through content, especially in literacy and math, while parents attended an adult ENL course. In addition to English classes, parents also received information through presentations from community-based organizations and learned about the many tools available to them provided by the district, such as accessing the parent portal and translation services. As a final celebration, parents made a delicious range of dishes for sampling from different countries including Ukraine, China, Peru, El Salvador and Afghanistan.
