The District kicked off the summer with its exciting and interactive STEAMy Art Camp that was held at the NBHS.

Students from grades 3-5 explored science, technology, education, art and math with a focus on art. They investigated, invented and played while creating a series of artworks. In addition, they worked on projects such as crafting drawing-robots, toothpick towers and dinosaur sculptures.

Artists from the Long Island Children's Museum visited the camp and led students in innovative workshops. Through these activities, they learned ancient cave paintings and the art of their preservation, separation techniques used by criminologists and the structure and function of feathers.

The camp wrapped up with a celebration and an art gallery that featured student work.
