SPARKing for Success

Under the direction of their science teacher Annette Kuruc, Honors-level juniors and seniors at the high school participated in the third annual Northwell Health SPARK Challenge, designed to cultivate students’ interests in STEM health care careers. During the one-day on-site experience, students had the opportunity to preview clinical and nonclinical career paths through conversations and engaging encounters with professionals in the field. They also worked together on a project aligned with this year’s theme, “High Impact Careers.”

The group of students will compete for a prize and make a presentation before approximately 1,000 peers and medical professionals at the Cradle of Aviation in April.
