Top Seniors Are Twinning

The NBHS is proud to announce that its top senior students are twin brothers. Bryan Sabogal is the valedictorian and Carlos Sabogal is the salutatorian for the Class of 2020.

With a GPA of 101.4, Bryan is currently taking six AP courses and has taken a total of 13 AP courses throughout his high school career. In addition, he has participated in a number of extracurricular activities including jazz band, academic team, National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, marching band, wind ensemble, Science Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Bryan has also earned a variety of awards and recognitions including high honor roll, National Merit Commended Scholar, AP Scholar with Distinction, NYSSMA & NYSSMA Jazz, SCMEA and LIU Honor Band. In addition to his academic work, he has participated in a variety of out-of-school activities and volunteer services. He has performed in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, New York Jets halftime show, performed for the Gurwin Jewish Nursing Home and Spangle Drive Senior Center, and aided with registration for the LASA 2019 Boston conference.

Carlos carries a 101.3 GPA and is also taking six AP courses, with a total of 13 AP courses throughout his high school career. He participated in a number of extracurricular activities including jazz band, academic team, National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society, marching band, wind ensemble, Science Honor Society, and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Carlos has also earned a variety of awards and recognitions such as high honor roll, AP Scholar with Distinction, NYSSMA, SCMEA and LIU Honor Band. Outside of school, Carlos also works hard in his volunteerism. This includes having performed for the Gurwin Jewish Nursing Home and Spangle Drive Senior Center and aided with registration for the LASA 2019 Boston conference.

The brothers have committed to attend Johns Hopkins University. Bryan will major in neuroscience and Carlos plans to study psychology.

The District congratulates the Sabogal family on this wonderful achievement and wishes both Bryan and Carlos the very best in their future endeavors.
