District Celebrates Success, Dedication

The Board of Education closed its 2018-2019 school year by celebrating student and staff accomplishments at its June meeting.

The District presented certificates to students recognized for their achievements in the Brookhaven National Science Fair. Student members of the Upstander Ambassador initiative were also recognized by the board, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly and Town of Babylon Councilman Terence McSweeney.

Superintendent of Schools Glen Eschbach presented 13 staff members from across the District for tenure. Mr. Eschbach provided certificates to all recipients and commemorated them for their hard work and commitment to the District and community.

“Many things are factored when making tenure recommendations and I can honestly say that each of you have gone above and beyond my expectations and I see a very bright future for not only you but for the students of the North Babylon School District who will benefit from your instruction for years to come,” Mr. Eschbach said. “Congratulations on reaching this point and milestone in your career. I look forward to our future together and wish you a long and happy career here in the North Babylon School District.”

The festivities continued with recognitions of retirees and staff members celebrating their 25th year of service in the District. In addition, District parent John Heegan also received a certificate of appreciation for donating his time, materials and craftmanship to create the trophy cases at the entrance of the NBHS.

The District congratulates all who demonstrated hard work and determination throughout the school year.
