Every Friday throughout the school year, the Student Council members from the William E. DeLuca Jr. Elementary School collected recyclables. The funds made by this effort went to a 7th-grader Life Scout Matthew, and his North Babylon Troop 399. 4,643 bottles were recylced in total! Due to this fundraising, many charitable donations of both food and items were made. Some including, but not limited to, went to St. Paul's Food Pantry, to a homeless shelter, and supermarket gift cards that were given to families in need during the holidays. They also raised $285 dollars for Relay for Life!

Pictured below along with the 2018-19 Student Council members are their directors; Mrs. Kresic and Mrs. Tafuro, Life Scout Matthew, his fundraising Leaders, and Principal Fantauzzi. Great job to all who made a significant impact on the community and the environment!
