The Fifth Graders at Parliament Place were the FIRST students on Long Island to experience the new
"We Are Astronomers" experience at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City.  They were blown away by the true to life graphics.  All the children in Ms. Manning, Mr. Morisie, and Mr. Hein's classes felt as if they returned from a space adventure when the show ended.  Two of Ms. Manning's students share their thoughts on this very exciting field trip:  Sean's favorite part was feeling like he was actually on one of the planets  "It was like my feet were actually on the surface of Mars".  Nicoletta's favorite part of the speed of light show.  "It was just like we were on a light beam racing with each other!  It felt like our seats were traveling in outer space!".  After their space journey, the Cradle of Aviation treated the Fifth Graders to a special movie called
"Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure".  This movie was perfect for their Social Studies curriculum!  They learned all about this famous Irish Explorer!  After they show they ate in the Red Planet where they ordered a yummy lunch filled with nutritious treats!
