On Friday May 4th the North Babylon school community gathered together to remember and honor a very special teacher. Jennifer Ferer was a teacher in the North Babylon School district for more than 20 years. In remembrance of her passing and in honor of her life, Mrs. Ferer's family donated a statue of Snoopy that was placed in the courtyard of William E. DeLuca, Jr. Elementary school. Mrs. Ferer was a passionate educator and student mentor. Throughout her career she worked tirelessly to instill a sense of pride and self-confidence in all her students. The statue serves as a constant reminder of all the good Mrs. Ferer did, and stands as a symbol of the positive attitude Mrs. Ferer put forth each and every day. Staff and community members from across the district came together with members of Mrs. Ferer’s family in the DeLuca courtyard to celebrate her life and passion for helping students. A special group of 5th grade volunteers provided all in attendance with a heartfelt rendition of Tim McGraw's 'Humble and Kind', one of Mrs. Ferer’s favorite songs. Thank you to all those in attendance and a special thank you to those members of the DeLuca family who helped to make the dedication for our special friend possible.
