The district hosted its annual English as a New Language Family Night for K-12 ENL and dual-language students and their loved ones. The event, themed “One Community, Many Cultures,” celebrated students’ rich diversity. More than 65 families attended and enjoyed the evening which was comprised of a variety of fun and educational activities.

Prior to the event, students created projects describing their cultural backgrounds, which were then sorted by country and displayed. Students and parents traveled to various stations to earn stickers for their “passports.” They also worked on multicultural crafts, such as worry dolls, rain sticks, maracas and drums, played math and literacy games, interacted with technology, and took photos for a North Babylon interactive world map. Families also enjoyed a bilingual performance by K-2 dual language students and teachers.
