For more than 25 years, the North Babylon School District has partnered with Suffolk County Legislator Wayne Horsely and the Babylon Rotary Club to help beautify the community of North Babylon. To commemorate Earth Day and Arbor Day, Legislator Horsely visited the Marion G. Vedder Elementary School to present each first grader with a sapling to be planted at home with their parents. During the Legislator’s visit, the Vedder first graders pledged to “plant, water, and protect my tree in summer, fall, winter, and spring so that it will be my friend for life.” All first graders throughout the North Babylon School District received saplings.
