Today we became aware of social media postings made by an unknown person or persons making threats toward our high school. We immediately, upon receipt of this information, placed the high school on “lock out” and notified the Suffolk County Police Department. The police responded to our call, did an investigation into the matter, and have deemed the campus to be safe. Therefore, the “lock out” was lifted at 10:45am. We have remained in a closed campus scenario where students may not leave campus during school hours. Please know the safety and well-being of our students is of the utmost importance, and all actions taken today were of precautionary measure. The district will continue to work with the Suffolk County Police throughout the day to monitor this situation.
