District Students Dazzle in Arts Festival

Students throughout the district were honored at an awards ceremony for their outstanding work in the Festival of the Arts District Art Show at Babylon Town Hall.

Students received a variety of notable awards, including: Superintendent’s Award to North Babylon High School student Ruth Mistretta; Supervisor’s Award to Belmont Elementary School student Aaliyah Lamarre; Director’s Award to Amanda Lucchetti and North Babylon High School art teacher Karen Kennely; and Best in Show Awards to North Babylon High School student Shauneil Williams and Robert Moses Middle School student Ashley Kelly.

They were joined in attendance by Superintendent of Schools Glen Eschbach, Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Educational Operation Dr. Judith Marino, several members of the board of education, Deputy Town Supervisor Tony Martinez and Town Councilman Tom Donnelly.

Prizes included scholarships to the Art League of Long Island, memberships in the Babylon Arts Council, Art League of Long Island and Hofstra University Museum, passes to the Long Island Children’s Museum and art supplies. The ceremony served to recognize the remarkable artwork of district students.
