Through the collaborative efforts of the library staff and art department, fourth-graders at Belmont researched specific animals using the internet and books to create PowerPoint presentations.

They were also taught how to create a bibliography of materials and how to depict their findings through animal artwork. As a culminating activity, students participated in a videoconference call with the St. Louis Zoo, during which they asked a zookeeper questions about the animals they researched.
