Standout members in the district were recognized during the Board of Education’s March meeting for their remarkable work and performances in the arts and athletics.

The meeting began with a performance of “We Dance” from the Drama Club’s recent presentation of the play “Once on This Island.” District Director of Arts Dr. Kim Lowenborg-Coyne recognized the cast, crew and pit of the play, and also several art students who have displayed extraordinary skills and work ethic throughout the year.

District Athletic Director John Sparacio then acknowledged several student-athletes who have achieved notable accolades in their respective sports, and each honoree received a certificate. Superintendent of Schools Glen Eschbach then presented Sparacio with a certificate to commemorate the athletic director’s distinction of being named one of Long Island’s seven Administrators of the Year by the Council of Administrators and Supervisors.

The recognition ceremony during the Board of Education’s March meeting honored members of the school district who go above and beyond in their crafts.
