The district hosted a night of painting and pizza for families in order to raise funds for music, art and theatre students’ scholarships. The event was sponsored by the Performing Arts Support Association (PASA) of North Babylon.
The sold-out event was held at North Babylon High School and featured members of its art department providing hours of entertainment for families. Art teacher Karen Kennely and students volunteered to host a fun painting workshop for one portion of the evening, while theatre teacher Lisa Drance and students acted out three children’s books: That is Not a Good Idea, Heggety Peg, and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs. The project was led by PASA president Kathy Scheid, vice president Laurie Seiden and district arts director Dr. Kim Lowenborg-Coyne.
The event served to raise scholarship funds for art students’ college educations in a fun forum that brought the community together.
