Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, DeLuca will be led by newly appointed Principal Vincent Fantauzzi.

Mr. Fantauzzi comes to the district having most recently served as the assistant principal at Saint James Elementary School in the Smithtown Central School District since 2012, and was the district’s administrator for grants and human resources prior to that post for nearly two years. Mr. Fantauzzi has also worked in the Connetquot Central School District in a number of capacities, including as a SCOPE Summer Enrichment Program coordinator, technology integration specialist, C-Quest Enrichment Program instructor and fifth-grade teacher.

Mr. Fantauzzi is New York State-certified as a School District Leader and School Building Leader, and also holds certification in the field of Elementary Education. He has also participated in several organizations, including the Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development, American Association of School Administrators, the New York State Association for School Personnel Administrators and the International Society for Technology Education. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University at Albany and his master’s degree in elementary education from Dowling College.

Mr. Fantauzzi said he seeks to inspire students to follow their dreams, and to help them live the lives they imagine. “It is my passion to advocate for the education of our young people,” he said. “Education should ignite a spark and inspire excellence. To teach is to inspire, to stir the imagination, and to provide students the tools needed to live their dreams. I am excited to be a part of the North Babylon School District, and especially grateful to become a member of the DeLuca family.”

Mr. Fantauzzi lives in East Islip and is the successor to retiring Deluca Principal Norann McManus.
