Sabrina the Humanitarian

Sabrina A., a fourth-grader at Woods Road, spearheaded “Sabrina’s Cause,” a fundraiser to benefit pediatric cancer patients at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Sabrina’s idea was to raise funds through a school wide effort, and use them to purchase toys and donate them to the children. On two separate Fridays, students and staff wore pink in honor of the cause, and donated $1 to the fundraiser. Following the collection of $250, Principal Mr. Golub assisted with the purchase of nearly 20 different playthings. Kathleen Fenton, director of the Child Life Program at Good Samaritan Hospital, visited the school to collect the toys.

“Sabrina’s Cause” highlighted the school’s philanthropic efforts stemming from one idea of a truly good humanitarian.
