Belmont kicked off its annual Pennies for Patients program with a “teaming together” event, during which students and staff wore their favorite sports attire.

The ongoing four-week program, held from March 9 to April 4 is designed to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Students are encouraged to bring in donations to fill hallway collection boxes. Each week is uniquely themed: “Cash for a Cookie,” “Blaze,” “Stuck for a Buck,” and the final assembly announcing each hallway’s highest fund-raising classes, are all designed to provide incentives for students to donate for a worthy cause.

A collective check will be presented to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society upon completion of the program.
