Students Learn About Human Rights

Fifth-graders at Parliament Place Elementary School in the North Babylon School District completed their 12-week study about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Each week, students reviewed and discussed the different components of the document and applied what they learned to current national events. They also participated in several debates about human rights infractions. After reading “Teaching Naples to Read, Write and Vote,” they all decided to help raise money to support education in other countries.
